Frinton Golf Club

1 The Esplanade, Frinton-on-Sea CO13 9EP

In 1904, twice Open Champion Willie Park Jnr. designed a new 18 hole course on the present site. At 6,265 yds Frinton is not excessively long by modern standards and, at first glance, the absence of trees may indicate an easy test. However, fast, firm and undulating greens test the best putters and tidal ditches cross many of the fairways. It is rare to play in still conditions at Frinton and it's open character means that every shot has to be evaluated with both wind strength and direction in mind. Many famous golfers have played here, including the Great Triumvirate of Vardon, Braid and Taylor. In 1929 the British Professionals practiced here prior to their first Ryder Cup victory at Moortown.

The Club celebrated its centenary in 1995, and is therefore able to look back on a distinguished past and look forward to a successful future in its second century.
