Hawick Golf Club

Vertish Hill, The Borders, Hawick TD9 0NY

Hawick Golf Club was founded in 1877 and the course developed over the years into what is now an excellent test of golf. It is built around the Vertish Hill and although essentially a hill course is not overly demanding physically as the fairways wind gradually to the crest of the hill.

Once there, players enjoy spectacular views of the Scottish Border hills in all directions. The opening holes require a good degree of accuracy as they run parallel with a road presenting the danger of out of bounds to the right. Two long par fours, the 6th and 7th arrive in quick succession to test the most skilful of golfers.

The course finishes with a lovely par 3 from an elevated tee facing towards the clubhouse. Honorary Members, Colin Montgomerie, Tony Jacklin and Nick Faldo have all played the course; Faldo holding the professional record of 64.

Restrictions: Please telephone in advance to book. All tee times are subject to availability.
