Northop Golf & Country Club is set in 247 acres of parkland with lakes and ponds interspersed around the layout to catch the unwary golfer. The course was designed by former Ryder Cup captain, John Jacobs and provides an excellent challenge for keen golfers of all levels of ability. It is a superb par 72 Championship course boasting USGA specification greens and tees. There is also first class practice facilities such as an undercover driving range to enable golfers to practice whatever the weather as well as chipping and putting greens to improve the short game. October 2003 saw Northop host a European Challenge Tour event, which was the first of its kind ever to be held in Wales, of which the club is justifiably proud.
