Sutton Golf Club

Cush Point, Burrow Road, Sutton

The late 19th Century saw Golf being played on our sandy peninsula in Sutton. The Club was established in 1890 with the amalgamation of the Sutton Golf and Boat Clubs to become known as the Sutton Golf Club.

Nowadays, based on the space available we now believe the 9 holes we have is a nice test of Links Golf with many hidden and subtle dangers, requiring skill and patience to overcome. The focus of our Clubhouse is the Dr. Joe Carr room, paying tribute to one of the World’s leading Amateur Golfers of his era. Our Club is very much one where the playing of the game and competitive Golf is of primary importance. The many pennants on display in the Clubhouse attest to the Club’s golfing successes down through the years at all levels.
