The Bath Golf Club was founded in 1880 at Kingsdown but moved to its present location in 1881. One of England’s oldest and finest downland courses, considered by many to be one of the top courses in the West Country.
The 18 hole, 6464 yard, par 71 course may not be the length that today’s course designers favour, but in the 1880s they knew how to create a challenge using the natural contours of a hilltop location. Springy downland turf over shallow soil and limestone ensures rapid draining and the course is usually in superb condition.
Much of the original layout of the course has been retained and the tees, fairways and greens are maintained to a high standard. As a result, Bath GC is a regular venue for Somerset County matches and championships.
Restrictions: Please contact club in advance to make a booking stating your an Open Fairways member, all tee times are subject to availability.
