Cathcart Castle Golf Club, founded in 1895, is home to one of James Braid's oldest Scottish designs. The course is played over undulating parkland which offers a challenge to all levels of golfers and is surrounded by picturesque and panoramic views of the City of Glasgow. You can also enjoy the fine views towards the North West and Loch Lomond.
The golf course occupies a prime location on the south side of Glasgow, being bordered between Clarkston and Whitecraigs, around a 15 minute drive from Glasgow City Centre and 30 minutes from both Glasgow and Prestwick Airports.
The par-69 course boasts six par-threes and, at less than 6,000 yards, appears to offer ample scoring opportunities. However, accuracy and course management are crucial even on the shorter holes, with two winding burns featuring in the majority of holes on the front nine and an array of bunkers to protect many of the greens on the course.
The many mature birch and pine trees lining the fairways have been enhanced by a recent tree planting program which is becoming well established.
After the golf, a welcoming friendly clubhouse is the ideal location for a bite to eat and a few drinks in comfortable surroundings.
Visitors are welcomed warmly all year round and tee times can even be made available at weekends.
