Duns Golf Club was founded in 1894, the original 9 hole course being to the east of the town of Duns at Castleknowes. In 1921 the course moved to its present location at the Hardens, where a nine hole course was laid out by A H Scott, the professional from Eilie who was the Royal Clubmaker to King George V.
The course extended to 18 holes in 1997 and has matured into one of the best courses in the Borders renowned for it's rolling terrain and magnificent views. The course measures 6298 yards from the competition tees, with a par of 71 and is a true challenge for golfers of all abilities.
There are 5 short holes on the course with the short 15th being the feature hole. This 116 yard par three is aptly called "Double Trouble" due to the burns that run in front and behind the green and the tiered green it's self. A good score can easily be ruined here. Dubbed one of the friendliest courses in the Borders, Duns offers a full catering service seven days a week.
Visitors are made very welcome and no handicap certificate is required when playing the course.
