Located in the heart of rural Aberdeenshire, Scotland, nestling between the distinctive peaks of Bennachie and Dunnideer, this golf course is really the Hidden Gem of Grampian's Crown. It is a parkland course requiring an accurate approach play to leave the ball in the correct position for the testing putts on the undulating greens.
The golf course was extended from nine holes to 18 in 1997. Funding was made possible for this through the National Lottery, the Foundation for Sports and Arts, the R&A Golf Club and members paying a levy. 12 new holes were provided as part of the extension. These have matured over time and now provide a full test of golfing ability.
The picturesque village of Insch is only a 40-minute drive from Aberdeen up the A96 and has a station on the main Aberdeen-Inverness rail line. The golf club is ideally located for golfers travelling along the east coast of Scotland north of St. Andrews and Dundee, perhaps playing the more illustrious courses at Carnoustie, Montrose, Rosemount, Royal Aberdeen, Cruden Bay, and Nairn and onwards to Royal Dornoch and Brora. But the test of golf does not only come from the major venues; Insch golf course will provide its own challenges and all visitors are assured of a warm welcome.
