Lymm Golf Club was opened in 1907 as a nine-hole course and was extended to 18 holes in 1970. It is a well-established parkland course that has two very different nines. The front nine runs alongside the Manchester Ship Canal, has a links feel and is based on sandstone. The back nine holes are longer and tree lined, resulting in a good test for any golfer. The course is on two levels and is easy to walk. Farmland surrounds the perimeter of the club, and this ensures a feeling of "getting away from it all". A fitting testimonial to the delights of the course is the high number of visitors who return to play.
