There are not many places in the world like Powerscourt Golf Club, Only 30 minutes from Dublin airport, you feel like you have entered a different world. The two championship golf courses are situated among the truly magnificent Powerscourt Estate which is home to 1000 acres of what needs to be seen to be believed. Powerscourt is everything that symbolises Ireland’s natural beauty.
The West course offers a completely different feel and test and brings David Mclay Kidd’s (Bandon Dunes in Oregan) experience and detail for a challenging, rewarding and highly enjoyable golf course to life. The beautiful scenery and the greens from the West course can be heard talked about in the clubhouse all evening long from our visitors who want a second chance at it. Our West Course has been a qualifying course for many Barton Shield and inter-club competitions. It is the newer of our two championship courses. The layout gently ambles its way through the rolling landscapes of the 1000-acre estate. The surroundings include mature trees, ravines and streams and the views of the Wicklow Mountains provide an idyllic setting.
It is no wonder that we received the best overall parkland venue award 2014. This award not only showcases our two magnificent courses but the overall venue for all kinds of events and functions. The clubhouse overlooks the 9th and 18th hole on the East and 18th on the West which really brings every aspect of the course into view. Unlike many other golf courses Powerscourt has full greens and tees all year round which we know all golfers love to hear. Playing the course the way our famous designers intended.
