The Valtellina Golf Club was designed by Fulvio Bani under the supervision of architect Fernando Grattirola in the mid-1990s and officially opened in May 1999.
The Golf Club, located a stone's throw from Sondrio, on the banks of the Adda river in the Lombardy Region, is surrounded by the vineyards of the Rhaetian Alps and the green forests of the Orobie, the white Adamello massif and the granite peaks of Monte Disgrazia.
Although surrounded by the Alps, the course is in a flat area, enlivened by small lakes and canals that characterise the more difficult holes.
The Valtellina Golf Club offers a course with a modern cut, alternating very long holes with others that are considerably shorter, but still challenging due to the many obstacles present.
The course is 6,171 m long and consists of 18 holes, par 71, 4 holes par 5, 9 holes par 4, 5 holes par 3 and a driving range.
The course is considered the pearl of the Alps.
