In 1998, on the site of the Clifden railway station, Clifden’s newest and largest hotel was opened. In the courtyard surrounding the hotel shops, restaurants, townhouses, apartments and a museum were also added. Five years on there’s a busy hotel which is open all year round, a wonderful selection of speciality shops and salons, a ‘café bar’ and the promise of a special dining experience in the Signal restaurant, which was opened in Easter 2003 by multi-award winning chef Stefan Matz.

Connnemara Golf Links, Ballyconneely, is a 15 minute drive from the hotel and Oughterard’s parkland golf course is a 45 minute drive away.
