The course itself is best described as a traditional parkland, built on 73 acres, which must surely be amongst the smallest plots on which a full 18 hole golf course has been built. Although not a long course, measuring a mere 5,918 yds from the back tees, its undulating terrain provides a suitable challenge for golfers of all standards.
Whilst not a hilly course, the valley that runs through it ensures plenty of sloping lies. The members believe this is the way golf should be played. The eighteenth hole back to the clubhouse is claimed by many to be "the longest 400yds in the county" when played into the wind, and is certainly amongst the finest finishing holes in the area.
