Our course is a ‘Hidden Gem’ set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and has a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) in view of our diversity of plants particularly the rare Ladies Slipper Orchid. Early morning golfers may see roe and fallow deer but all will have wonderful views of Morecambe Bay, the Lakeland and Howgill Fells.
This is an 18 hole course of two halves, either 9 holes of wide open fairways or heath land with narrow valleys, mature trees, raised tees and greens and rocky outcrops all which make for a challenging but an exciting round of golf. Our 13th, The Plateau is our signature hole and as recorded in the book as 24th in ‘Britain’s 100 Extraordinary Golf Holes’. It can ruin many a good card but canny golfers play this hole well. The course and greens are in excellent condition. We have a modern clubhouse with superb food & drinks to meet all tastes & pockets. David Sutcliffe our PGA Professional and his wife Edwina run an excellent shop with golfing equipment, clothes and lessons at very competitive prices. There is also a brand new indoor swing room for tuition or hire! We have double & single seater buggies, electric & push trolleys for hire.
We welcome visitors whether in a group or as society to our club. We are 10 minutes from junction 35 on the M6 and across the road from Silverdale Station and the RSPB Leighton Moss Nature Reserve. See our website for activities for the family while you play golf. Just phone the club on 01524 701300 and ask for the Pro Shop who will reserve a time for you and redirect your call through to the bar should you require a meal.
