Nestling in the hills of the Renfrewshire/North Ayrshire border, Skelmorlie golf course is noted for the beautiful views of the Firth of Clyde.
The original course, which was opened in 1891 was redesigned in 1910 by the legendary James Braid. Despite plans to extend the course being mooted in 1914, eighty five years were to pass until, in 1999, the course lost its title of "Oldest Thirteen Hole Golf Course in the World" with the addition of a five hole extension.
The course itself is relatively short at 5,030 yards, however some long par threes and a couple of long par fours make this a challenging "beat".
