In a natural setting and unique landscape for its beauty and integrity, in the midst of the maquis and ancient olive trees, you will find the Acaya Golf Resort & Spa golfcourse designed by the renowned American firm Hurdzan and Fry. The 18-hole par 71 course is 6,192 metres long and offers a wide variety of design, constantly searching for perfect harmony between the natural features of the land and how the shots are to be played. It therefore requires players to use all fourteen irons and woods in their bag. The fairway grass, using a strong, dense American Bermuda grass seed, guarantees that the ball will float extremely well along the surface for shots that are always sharp and clean. On the sides, a mixture of four types of fescue ripples at natural height. For the greens, two varieties, A4 and A1, of agrostis stolonifera palustris have been used: a composition that has about twice the number of stems in the grass than conventional Penncross.
Extensive and diversified water distribution ensures that the grass is watered in a calibrated way, carefully measured to reduce any possibility of overdose and waste. A complex system of lakes and streams makes it possible to manage and conserve the water, which is oxygenated naturally by a system of small waterfalls. This impressive work of hydraulic engineering provides a delicate soundtrack and a series of obstacles along the edges of the course.
Some holes are flanked by beautiful and strategically placed lakes and streams. You can see the pools at holes 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. A spectacular waterfall divides holes 11 and 12. The wind, "the most important and fascinating of the hazards", is a feature of the course as if it were a Scottish links, and urges you to choose directions and parabolas in order to exploit its drifts. The mild climate makes it particularly enjoyable to play and stay all months of the year.

The technical and agronomic renovation and complete remodelling of the Acaya Resort course were started in 2007 by the American firm Hurdzan and Fry. One of the most prestigious names in the golf world, Hurdzan and Fry is characterized by an environmentally friendly approach to golf.
They have a simple and traditional approach, which is purely functional, designed to make golf a game accessible to all and, above all, sustainable. This was of particular interest for Acaya Golf Resort & Spa as it is located in the vicinity of a natural oasis of about 380 hectares, home to rare natural landscapes and a place of shelter for many aquatic birds. In the green of the Mediterranean maquis, "valuable natural vegetation," the firm of Hurdzan and Fry was able to redesign, elegantly and in harmony with its landscape and enhancing its features, a splendid 18-hole par 71 course, producing a challenge that is of interest for all levels of play, professional or amateur, men, women and juniors.
