Experience the great game of golf with Mortonhall Golf Club in Edinburgh, Scotland
13 September 2018
Mortonhall is the oldest course in the City of Edinburgh over which golf is still played and is regarded as one of Scotland’s premier clubs. Always great courses available to play with Open Fairways!!
Founded in 1892, Mortonhall is rightly regarded as one of Scotland's premier clubs. A championship test of 6557 yards, the club hosted the Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship in 1992. Magnificent mature silver birch, fir, pine, sycamore and cherry trees define the immaculate fairways. The golfer is left aware, in no uncertain terms, of the test that he faces after ascending the steps to the elevated second tee. A superb long par 4 of 465 yards stretches far into the distance, offering a stern examination of even the most hardened veteran. Late in the round The Elfin Pond is another attractive feature, eliciting a bold shot at the par 3 17th. Having enjoyed a round on one of the best courses in the Lothians, the welcoming clubhouse provides the visitor with the perfect ambience in which to relax.
