The North West Golf club is situated on the shores of Lough Swilly in Lisfannon, The club was founded in 1891 and is one of nine founding member clubs of the Golfing Union of Ireland (G.U.I). It's a classic links layout with fast running fescue greens, rivetted pot bunkers and wispy rough framing undulating fairways.
The Club has consistently ranked highly in golf publications and websites and is a must visit on the Wild Atlantic Way. Many a golfing great has honed their skills around the Lisfannon links with such notables as the Munn brothers and Norman Drew in bygone days and Brian McElhinney (British Amateur and European Amateur Championship winner) and Michael McGeady (Swalec Open on the Challenge Tour and PGA Irish Championship winner) in recent times.
